ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW
The EMKOO generally scored well in the AOP category, providing good protection for the front passenger. The evaluation, however, found that while the car had good protection for the driver’s head, upper legs, and feet, the chest was only marginally protected and lower legs were only adequately protected.
In evaluating the vehicle’s performance in case of a side impact, the test revealed that the driver had good protection in all areas: head, neck, chest, and groin.
The vehicle is equipped with airbags for the driver and passenger as well as the sides and curtains as a standard for all variants. Only the knee area is not protected by airbags. The total number of airbags in the vehicle is tallied at six.
For the COP category, most tested child seats were compatible with the right rear passenger seat except for the Britax KidFix 2 R. The left rear passenger seat showed nearly the same results, in addition to the Joie Stages child seat being compatible. Almost all tested child seats were not compatible with the centre rear passenger seats. The only centre-compatible child seat was the Britax KidFix 2 R.
The SA category evaluates a vehicle’s safety assist features. The evaluation found that all key safety features are installed, such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for all occupants, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for City, Inter-Urban, and Pedestrian, Lane Departure Warning System (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Auto High beam (AHB), and Pedestrian Protection (PP).
The EMKOO’s MS features were also well-present except for Advanced Rear Visualisation. Blind Spot Detection was present but as an optional feature for both the nearside and offside. Standard on all variants are the AHB, PP, and AEB for motorcycles.
