The new Audi A6 e-tron secured a five-star safety rating from ANCAP following its recent arrival in New Zealand. Tested under ANCAP’s latest 2025 protocols, the large battery-electric sedan performed strongly across all major safety categories.

The vehicle achieved a 92 per cent score for Adult Occupant Protection and 91 per cent for Child Occupant Protection. It also received maximum points awarded for the protection of the driver, front passenger, and child passengers in the frontal offset test.

The model also recorded a 75 per cent score for Vulnerable Road User Protection and 77 per cent for Safety Assist technologies, resulting in an overall strong safety performance.

“These results further highlight the high levels of safety available to consumers across a variety of brands,” said ANCAP Chief Executive Officer Carla Hoorweg.

Comprehensive Safety Technology

Standard safety equipment includes dual frontal, side chest-protecting, and side head-protecting airbags. All variants are also equipped with a centre airbag that offers additional protection for front occupants during side impacts.

All variants also feature autonomous emergency braking capable of detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists in various situations including junction and head-on scenarios. The A6 e-tron’s lane support system integrates lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and emergency lane keeping. A speed assist system with sign recognition is also included.

The five-star rating applies to all Audi A6 e-tron variants built from April 2025 onward and sold in New Zealand from July 2025. The rating remains valid until December 2031.
