Vietnam’s year-to-date tally for new vehicles sales surpassed the 500,000-unit mark in November, driven by steady demand and strong contributions from local EV brand VinFast.

GENERAL SALES

Data from Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and Hyundai revealed that new car sales in Vietnam reached 44,801 for November. When including local brand VinFast, the monthly sales tally reached 67,987.

The year-to-date tally without VinFast reached 375,184 units, 2.1 per cent higher year-over-year (YoY). Including VinFast, the YTD tally breached the 500,000 unit-mark with 522,634 new cars delivered in 2025.

Among VAMA members, passenger car sales rose 5 per cent while commercial vehicle sales increased slightly by 1 per cent. Special purpose vehicles (SPV) on the other hand declined slightly by 3 per cent while hybrid vehicle sales amounted to 1,340 units sold. The YTD tally for hybrid vehicles reached 12,522 units sold so far, 49 per cent higher than last year.

For the ninth consecutive month imported vehicle sales outperformed domestically assembled vehicles. Domestic vehicle sales grew by 7 per cent with 18,370 units sold, while imported vehicle sales reached 20,968 units in November.
