This figure is a slight decrease from July of last year’s sales by 4.5 per cent. Furthermore, commercial vehicles accounted for only 5,619 of total vehicles sold, also declining by 6.8 per cent year-on-year (YoY).

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s auto production improved very slightly by 0.8 per cent YoY. Sales are expected to be strong for the month of August with Malaysia’s economy growing by 4.4 per cent YoY. The second quarter of 2025 proved to be strong for the peninsula due to strong domestic consumption. Additionally, the benchmark interest rate was lowered to 2.75 per cent. This is the first time interest rate has been lowered since its hike in April 2023.
