Research is starting to suggest the breath analyser market will begin to grow significantly over the coming years as the demand for effective BAC (blood alcohol content) level measuring devices increases.
Appropriate BAC is a standard safety practice in a mobile workplace and as the need for monitoring it increases, so does the market.
Emergen Research predicts the global breath analyser market will be worth USD $22.79 billion by 2027, as a result of road laws and workplace health and safety conditions established in fleets.
Breath analysing devices are used extensively for detecting alcohol on a drivers breathe, determining if they are fit to drive, in breach of company driving policy or breaking the law. Australia has seen random breath testing since 1982 and has since seen a 40 per cent decrease in fatal crashing involving alcohol.
The significant safety benefits of breath analysers have not gone unnoticed as there are now dozens of options available for both commercial and personal use.
Various models and breath analyser technology continues to be developed every day. A new form of alcohol detection device draws in the driver’s exhaled breath, assessing a driver’s state of sobriety with infrared light beams to measure the amount of carbon dioxide and alcohol molecules.
