VinFast has extended its free EV charging program until 2029, covering key Southeast Asian markets including the Philippines, India, and Indonesia.

Program extension

Future and current customers will have complimentary access to V-Green’s charging network, with  the program open to both VinFast-branded passenger and commercial vehicles, including fleets operated by Green SM, a ride-hailing platform that exclusively uses VinFast vehicles.

According to VinFast, the free charging program was a success in its homeland, Vietnam, and the decision to extend this program into the Philippines, India, and Indonesia aims to accelerate EV use in these countries.

“VinFast believes that when operating costs are optimized to nearly zero, consumers will have greater confidence and motivation to switch to green mobility, while also contributing to the greening of transportation systems in these countries,” said VinFast’s Deputy CEO of Global Sales, Duong Thi Thu Trang.

Additional support in these markets include a battery subscription program, residual value guarantee program, flexible finance schemes, and a warranty coverage package. These additional support programs support VinFast’s goal to accelerate EV adoption in its overseas markets.

Other incentives

In addition to free charging, VinFast currently offers incentives for potential buyers under its “Trade Gas for Electric” program. Under this program, customers switching to EVs from ICE vehicles can enjoy a 3 per cent discount on all VinFast EVs and a 5 per cent discount for its two-wheelers.

The program began on 11 March and will run until the end of the month.

Green SM users in Laos, Vietnam, and Indonesia may also enjoy a 10 per cent discount on ride-hailing services under the “GreenForAll” program. The GreenForAll program will also run from 11 March until 31 March.
