Vietnamese car manufacturer VinFast will partner with TÜV Rheinland to develop vehicle testing, inspecting, and certification services in Southeast Asia.
The agreement
On 17 July, electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Germany-based company TÜV Rheinland. TÜV Rheinland is globally recognised as a testing, inspecting, and certification company.
This collaboration will be applied to VinFast’s Training Centre, bringing the facility to international standards in terms of automotive testing and technical advisory. Under the agreement, TÜV Rheinland will prioritise the VinFast Training Centre as its preferred provider for projects in Vietnam and ASEAN countries. Together, VinFast and TÜV Rheinland will promote the testing centre to various automotive manufacturers and utilise it as a venue for business opportunities and training programs.
“Our partnership with TÜV Rheinland is a key step in VinFast’s long-term strategy to strengthen our research, testing and product development capabilities in line with international standards,” said Nguyen Manh Quan, VinFast’s Deputy CEO of Quality Control Division.
“Beyond enhancing product quality, this collaboration also creates opportunities for VinFast to gradually become part of the regional and global automotive technical services network, contributing to the continued development of Vietnam’s automotive industry ecosystem,” he added.

This partnership will be the first long-term collaborations between both parties.
Established partnership
VinFast and TÜV Rheinland’s previous short-term collaborations include testing and technical assessments of EV systems, components, and complete vehicles. These activities supported the development of automotive products to meet the technical criteria of local and international markets.
According to VinFast, this collaboration can “elevate the relationship from individual partnership to a long-term partnership.”
