Nissan Australia has issued a recall on its current generation Pathfinder off-roader.

The R52 model Pathfinder four-wheel-drive has a fuel tank risk which according to Nissan, “may be below design specification.”

“In rare instances during a crash, this condition could lead to fuel leakage,” the automaker said on the Product Safety Australia website.

VIN numbers affected include 89 vehicles between 5N1AR2M**FC724615 and 5N1AR2M**FC724817.

Affected owners will have the problem rectified, “Once parts availability is confirmed,” Nissan said. Owners are urged to contact their nearest Nissan dealer to arrange the rectification work with will come at no direct cost to owner.
