Packed with AWD availability, eight seats and leading safety features Hyundai’s new STARIA model is the manufacturer’s latest push into the ultra-competitive SUV market.

Taking the place of iMax in the Hyundai range, the STARIA model features a standard suite of SmartSense™ advanced active safety and driver assistance features.

Alongside a Blind-spot view monitor, also standard are Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist (FCA-JT), Blind Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist (BCA-R) and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) systems.

There are also seven airbags, including Hyundai’s pioneering front centre side airbag.

“All-new STARIA is a head-turning eight-seater people mover alternative to our SUV favourites, Santa Fe and Palisade, with all the safety, comfort and convenience technology customers expect in a modern passenger vehicle,” Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Jun Heo said.

STARIA is offered with a choice of a powerful petrol V6 or a torquey turbo-diesel with the Smartstream 3.5-litre V6 MPi petrol engine uses 10.5L/100km while the ‘R’ designated 2.2-litre four-cylinder CRDi engine uses 8.2 L/100km.

Driver-selectable Normal, Eco, Sport and Smart modes in STARIA apply a range of powertrain response settings to provide the ideal driving performance to suit the conditions.

STARIA is set to go on sale locally in August, priced from $48,500 MLP
