Honda has unveiled a refreshed version of its iconic ‘H’ logo, marking a new era for the iconic Japanese brand.
A NEW ERA
Honda last refreshed its signature metallic H logo in 2024. This time, the new iteration is a flat version, giving the logo a more modern appearance.
It marks a new chapter for Honda and was released alongside the new Honda 0 Series, the brand’s next generation electric vehicle (EV) line-up
“The H mark design was refreshed in conjunction with the development of next-generation EVs, including the Honda 0 Series, which are being developed with the determination to create new EVs from ‘zero’ by going back to the starting point of Honda as an automaker,” the company wrote in its press release.
The logo reflects the company’s philosophy of “transformation and corporate attitude of going beyond the origin of Honda and constantly pursuing new challenges and advancements.”
According to Honda, the design is meant to resemble “two outstretched hands.” The new logo no longer has a border around the “H” and resembles its very first logo created in 1963.
This design will first be applied to Honda’s next-generation EVs and hybrid vehicles starting 2027. However, customers can see the logos on all future vehicles, not just EVs or hybrids.
THE SECOND FOUNDING
Honda is officially dubbing this new era as the “second founding.” The new logo will also be used by Honda as a whole, including their dealerships, motorsports, and communications. However, for motorcycles, Honda will continue to use its existing wing logo.
The second founding refers to Honda’s commitment to “offering new value that goes beyond customer expectations with cutting-edge technology and ideas without being bound by conventional ideas, practices and ways of doing things.”
