New South Wales EV charger provider Jolt will be rolling out fast electric vehicle chargers across New Zealand starting in July 2022.
Jolt will be partnering with trade hardware store chain Mitre 10 and will be installing the first EV chargers at the latter’s retail locations in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
These chargers will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy utilising combination green-certified wind and solar energy that is audited by GreenPower.
“We are selecting charger locations based on where it is most convenient for EV drivers within the urban areas, so we don’t disrupt their routine,” said Chris Monaghan, Jolt’s New Zealand country manager.
“Drivers pull up, plug in, and are on their way in 20 minutes, receiving up to 7kWh free per day, saving over $1,000 a year by charging with Jolt.”
EV owners will be able to charge 7kWh per day for free using the Jolt app. Anything in excess can be paid via the app.
More chargers are planned to be installed across the country over the coming years.
