Other variants of this model will be sold to the same markets as well as Vietnam, Myanmar, Brunei, and the Philippines.

The assessment for the BYD Seal followed the 2021-2025 protocol. According to ASEAN NCAP, the 2026-2030 assessment protocol will be followed starting January 2026.

RESULTS

The BYD Seal was a awarded a weighted score of 38.44 points under the AOP category. In testing the vehicle’s frontal impact, it was found that the driver and front seat passenger received good protection in most areas. The driver’s feet, left shin, the passenger’s chest, and right shin received adequate protection in comparison. The crash test also revealed that passengers have good protection in the case of side impact.

Airbags for the driver and passenger are available on all variants while, the vehicle’s sides, centre, and curtains are also equipped with airbags. However, airbags for knee protection are not available.

In the COP category, the Seal scored 16.60 points. Furthermore, the sedan scored perfectly in the dynamic test assessment. The vehicle proved to provide good protection in case of frontal or side impact. The ASEAN NCAP tested several child seat models. So far, all child seat models can be equipped in the front passenger seat as well as the rear left and right seats. Out of 11 tested child seats, 6 failed to be installed in the centre rear seat, while 5 models were exempt.

For the SA category, the BYD Seal scored almost perfectly with 19.52 points. All of the ASEAN NCAP’s required features are available and standard on all variants. These include Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking (City, Inter-Urban, Pedestrian), Lane Departure Warning System, Forward Collision Warning System, and Lane Keep Assist. However, only seatbelt reminders for the rear passengers and rear seat occupant detection are available as optional.
