BMW Group Australia made use of the advanced technology embedded in its vehicles to send a message to more than 46,000 BMW and MINI customers prior to Easter encouraging them to follow government recommendations to enjoy the long weekend at home with family to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
It adopted the BMW ConnectedDrive system, which combines numerous digital features that provide drivers access to a suite of constantly updated services and apps, as the platform to deliver the message via the vehicles’ centre-mounted display screens.
The message read: “BMW Group encourages you to follow the government’s advice to enjoy your time indoors this long weekend. We wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Easter”.
“We all must play a role in flattening the curve of COVID-19 infection as the virus continues to impact people’s lives and businesses across the nation and the world,” said Vikram Pawah, BMW Group Australia CEO.
“The Australian Government has put commendable measures in place in an effort to slow the infection rate and BMW Group moved quickly to support those efforts and help amplify the “stay home over Easter” message to our valued customers,” added Pawah.
