For the second consecutive year, the technologically advanced BMW 530e iPerformance has conquered the coveted Drive Car of the Year award for the ‘Best Luxury Car over $80,000’ category.
“As the first plug-in hybrid to claim a category win in Drive’s Car of the Year awards last year, the BMW 530e is a brilliant showcase of how cutting-edge technology and traditional luxury have converged,” said Andrew Maclean, Editor in Chief of the Drive Network.
“That it has successfully defended its title as Drive’s Best Luxury Car over $80,000 in 2018 highlights how far ahead of the game it is,” he said.

The $109,900* BMW 530e iPerformance combines a 135kW 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and a synchronous electric motor for incredible performance, while using only 2.3L/100km of fuel n the combined cycle. Combined outputs are set at 185kW and 420Nm.
A 9.2kWh high-voltage battery pack provides a zero-emission, pure electric range of up to 43km.
