The Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA) is proud to announce Satinder Sahota as the inaugural Chair of its newly established Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Chapter Committee.

Satinder’s appointment marks an important step in expanding AfMA’s chapter network, which now includes New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, the Australian Capital Territory, and New Zealand.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in government, transport, and fleet management to the role. Currently serving as Director of Fleet Services within the City  Services Directorate at the ACT Government, he leads fleet procurement, contract management, and the transition to zero-emission vehicles.

His depth of expertise and strong industry connections make him well placed to guide the committee in supporting local members and advancing AfMA’s mission in the ACT.

A Proven Leader in Fleet Management

Throughout his career, Satinder has been recognised for his leadership, innovation, and dedication to improving fleet outcomes. His achievements include the Director-General Safety Award in 2019 for his contribution to workplace safety and multiple nominations for both the ACT Public Service Awards and AfMA’s Fleet Manager of the Year Award. His work has consistently focused on building strong industry relationships, supporting sustainability initiatives, and driving operational excellence.

His passion for fleet management is matched by his commitment to the wider community. His career journey spans roles in consular services, design, customer service, and fleet operations. This gives him a unique perspective on leadership, collaboration, and innovation. He is also currently furthering his skills through a Diploma of Leadership and Management at Swinburne University.

We look forward to delivering new opportunities for members, promoting best practice, and strengthening the voice of fleet professionals in the region.
