AfMA’s Board has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the voice of members and expanding professional development opportunities across the fleet industry.
At AfMA’s Strategy Day on 15 September, Board members and the AfMA team came together to build on the Association’s strong industry position and shape its priorities for the years ahead.
The discussion brought together perspectives from across the industry and focused on how AfMA can deliver even greater value to members, support the continued development of fleet professionals and strengthen the recognition of fleet management as a profession.
While the broader strategic priorities are being finalised, the Board agreed to progress three important areas:
- Member participation: Update AfMA’s constitution to provide members with greater opportunities to participate in general meetings and contribute to the Association’s direction.
- Training and development: Expand opportunities for members to strengthen their knowledge, develop practical skills and respond confidently to emerging industry challenges.
- Career pathways and recognition: Establish clearer development pathways and create greater recognition for the knowledge, experience and contribution of fleet professionals.
The Board confirmed Mace Hartley as Executive Director for a further five years. His continued leadership provides valuable stability and continuity as AfMA builds on its achievements and delivers its next phase of growth.
Strategy Day reinforced a shared commitment to keeping members at the centre of AfMA’s work. The Board and team will now assess the wider ideas raised, confirm the strategic priorities and develop a practical implementation plan for the years ahead.
