The GWM Tank 300 achieved a five-star ANCAP safety rating after being introduced to Australia in December 2022.
The five-star rating was secured after the GWM Tank 300 scored 88% in adult occupant protection, 89% in child occupant protection, 81% in vulnerable road user protection and 85% in safety assist.
The vehicle comes fitted with autonomous emergency braking (Car-to-Car, Vulnerable Road User and Junction Assist), a lane support system with lane keep assist (LKA), lane departure warning (LDW) and emergency lane keeping (ELK), and blind spot monitoring (BSM).
“This safety rating for the Tank 300 rounds out our testing for the year, and adds another five-star performer into the GWM stable and importantly, the Australia new vehicle fleet,” said ANCAP Chief Executive Officer, Carla Hoorweg.
“2023 will see a number of new and updated aspects introduced into our test and rating regime – further enhancing the safety of new cars offered to Australian and New Zealand consumers,” said Ms Hoorweg.
The safety rating applies to all standard variants.
