5 Stars for LDV MIFA, NZ Ford Mustang MACH-E; 4 Stars for Honda HR-V

A variety of petrol and alternative-fueled vehicles have once again received excellent safety ratings from ANCAP. In its latest round of assessment, the LDF MIFA and the New Zealand-supplied Ford Mustang MACH-E have received a 5-star safety rating. Meanwhile, the Honda HR-V garnered 4 stars.

LDV MIFA

The petrol-fueled LDV MIFA is a people mover that had comparable scores with its electric variant, the MIFA 9. This vehicle scored 93% in Adult Occupant Protection, 88% in Child Occupant Protection, 73% in Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 90% in Safety Assist.

According to ANCAP, the vehicle received full points for points for the protection of the driver and small female rear passenger in the full-width frontal test. It also fared well in protecting the front seat passenger in the frontal offset test, and the driver in the side impact test.

FORD MUSTANG MACH-E

The NZ-supplied Ford Mustang MACH-E received 5 stars after scoring 92% in Adult Occupant Protection, 86% in Child Occupant Protection, 69% in Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 82% in Safety Assist. This rating applies to the RWD Select and AWD Premium variants.

The small SUV was awarded full points for the protection offered to the driver in the side impact and oblique pole tests, as well as for child occupants in the side impact and frontal offset tests.

HONDA HR-V

The Honda HR-V, released in Australia in April 2022, received a 4-star safety rating across all its variants. It scored 82% in Adult Occupant Protection, 77% in Child Occupant Protection, 72% in Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 69% in Safety Assist.

According to ANCAP, “Good scores were recorded for the HR-V’s lane-keeping and forward-travel autonomous emergency braking ability.”
