With only days remaining until the 2026 AfMA Fleet Leadership and Education Summit, fleet and mobility professionals from across Australia and New Zealand are preparing to gather for one of the industry’s biggest annual events.
This year’s Summit will bring together fleet, transport, procurement, finance, operations and sustainability leaders for two days of education, networking and industry discussion focused on operational performance, cost management, technology, decarbonisation and resilience.
As organisations continue to face rising operating costs, fuel market volatility, and evolving fleet technology, this year’s program will focus heavily on practical strategies and real-world operational insights.
2026 Fleet Summit Highlights
Several initiatives and program updates will debut at this year’s event following attendee feedback and industry consultation.
Ride & Drive experience returns
The Ride & Drive program will return in 2026, giving delegates the opportunity to experience a range of new vehicle technologies firsthand during the Summit. This will give attendees direct access to electric, hybrid, and emerging fleet vehicles in a practical operational setting.
Inaugural Women in Fleet Management Award
The 2026 Summit will also introduce the inaugural Women in Fleet Management Award, proudly sponsored by Smartfleet and BOQ. This award recognises outstanding achievement and leadership within the fleet industry. The award presentation ceremony will take place on Day 2 of the Summit following breakfast.
Improved Networking Opportunities
Over the years, the Fleet Summit has prided itself on providing outstanding networking opportunities for delegates and exhibitors alike. This year, we’re truly Powered by Connection. We’re introducing additional networking and engagement opportunities to foster more discussions between fleet operators, suppliers, government representatives, and industry stakeholders.
The former Grove Lounge has also been reimagined as the Networking Lounge and will serve as a more dynamic networking space during the Summit Dinner. This will give delegates additional opportunities to connect outside formal sessions.
Program highlights
The 2026 program features sessions focused on some of the industry’s most pressing operational and strategic challenges, including:
- reducing operating costs through intelligent fleet management
- telematics and connected fleet strategy
- business continuity planning during fuel disruption
- EV transition and fit-for-purpose vehicle selection
- real-world emissions and EV testing
- fleet sustainability and decarbonisation
- operational resilience and disruption planning
- road user charging and future transport funding models
- fleet transformation and digital integration.
Attendees will hear from fleet practitioners, government representatives, suppliers, and technical specialists through keynote presentations, case studies, panels, and operational discussions.

Industry Awards and Networking Dinner
The Industry Awards and Networking Dinner will take place on 19 May from 6:00pm onwards and is sponsored by FleetGuru. The evening will recognise organisations and individuals delivering strong outcomes across fleet management, safety, sustainability and operational leadership.
Awards presented during the evening include:
- Fleet Manager of the Year Award — sponsored by bp and Geotab
- Fleet Safety Award — sponsored by Netradyne and Solvd
- Fleet Environment Award — sponsored by Hyundai and Karmo
Beyond the awards, the dinner remains one of the Fleet Summit’s major networking events. It brings together delegates, suppliers, government representatives, and industry leaders in a more informal setting following the conference sessions.
Invite-Only Leaders of Industry Dinner
The Leaders of Industry Dinner will take place on 18 May and is proudly sponsored by Polestar.
Held ahead of the main Summit program, this invitation-only event is an exclusive gathering focused primarily on fleet operators, fleet managers, government fleet representatives, and senior fleet professionals from across the industry.
The evening brings together AfMA Board members, committee representatives, international guests, and selected industry leaders in a relaxed and informal setting designed to encourage meaningful discussion, peer connection, and collaboration among those directly responsible for managing and leading fleet operations.
The dinner provides a valuable opportunity for attendees to build relationships, exchange insights, and reconnect with peers from across the fleet sector ahead of the Summit.
