PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to define the company policy regarding smoking and company vehicles.

PROCEDURE

A company supplied vehicle is considered a workplace for OH&S purposes and as such is subject to all health and safety legislation.

All workplaces are required to be smoke free environments and as a consequence smoking is not permitted in company supplied vehicles regardless of the number of occupants or whether the occupants agree to smoke or not.

Failure to comply with this request will attract disciplinary action.

Note: Current legislation could be interpreted to include privately owned vehicles and Novated Lease vehicles being used on company business.
