Fleet and Safety Courses

The Fleet and Safety course series has been developed by the Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA) to support those responsible for managing vehicles, drivers, and safety in a mobile workplace.

These courses address the practical, legal, and operational responsibilities associated with fleet activities, including work health and safety, chain of responsibility, risk management, vehicle selection, telematics, grey fleet, and whole of life cost. The focus is on informed decision making, compliance, and reducing risk across fleet operations.

The series is suitable for fleet managers, safety and operations staff, procurement teams, and others involved in fleet-related decisions.

The Driver Safety courses have been developed by the Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA) to support safer driving and improve understanding of vehicle safety.

These courses are designed for drivers of passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles who drive for work or use vehicles provided through workplace fleets. They explain how vehicle safety ratings and safety features work, and why they matter, using clear and practical language.

The series supports safer driving behaviour, more informed vehicle choices, and helps organisations meet their duty of care and road safety obligations.

The Self-Assessment Tool forms an integral part of the Fleet Management Guide by providing a series of questions that will facilitate the identification of risk or opportunities to improve aspects of the Fleet Management Process.
