Westpac joins forces with Uber offering customer discounts
New Westpac customers will receive savings on Uber travel, and employees will be able to use the ride-sharing service for business-related travel, as part of a new agreement between the big bank and disruptive ride-share service.
Only new customers to UberX and UberBLACK will receive the $25 discount on the end of their first trip in states that permit Uber operation. This is not the only promotional offer to come, the companies announced in a joint statement.
“Westpac and Uber look forward to working together to develop more offers and services for customers and employees over the coming months,” the statement read.
George Frazis, Westpac consumer bank division chief said, “Today we are giving up to 100,000 Westpac customers the opportunity to save up to $25 off their first ride with Uber using the special promotional code available from our website.”
“We also introduced Uber as an approved form of business travel for our employees and look forward to announcing other staff benefits later in the year,” he said.
Uber has also recently agreed with Optus to install in-car Wifi in 100 UberX vehicles across Melbourne and Sydney, met with discounted mobile services for Uber operators.
