With less than 2 weeks to go until the 2021 Australasian Fleet Conference & Exhibition you’re probably in one of two boats – you’ve either booked your tickets or you’re keen to find out more information.
If you’re in the former category congrats – we look forward to seeing you on May 20-21 in Melbourne for our first national in-person event since 2019. It promises to be a genuine chance to safely bring people back together, learn new information and to plan the future of fleet together.
For those that are still considering coming along we thought it might be a good chance to explore some of the great reasons you might like to join us.
Hear from 35+ speakers at 20+ Educational sessions.
We’ve got an incredible lineup of speakers, presentations and information for you to soak your teeth into in 2021. Here’s just a small snapshot of what we have in store:
- Preparing today for the future of tomorrow – When it comes to thinking about what the fleet of the future will look like it’s all about considering the 3 key “S” words – is it Safe, is it Simple and is it Smart? In this engaging presentation Dr Steve Nuttall will outline the technologies, skills and capabilities that are shaping the future of the fleet industry as well as the experiences that fleet customers will ultimately expect from their service providers. Keynote session sponsored by WEX Australia.
- Emotional Intelligence is the Key to Success – The fleet and automotive industries are complex and dynamic, not unlike our roles within it. Our ability to deliver comes from years of hand on experience and knowledge, however we spend most of our time on the dance floor rather than choreographing the moves. In this keynote Lisa Panarello from Careers Advance, will not only inspire you but equip you to grow, focus and be the best version of yourself.
- Going to Court: Could this be You and Your Company? – This is a simulated prosecution case, a fun, high-impact way of engaging the audience, challenging attitudes and behaviors to compliance and reinforcing the importance of operating systems and personal accountability. Join Bruce Whitehead & Mark Maddox from Mock Court International as we put the topic of Grey Fleets under the microscope.
- Vehicle Emissions: What are the Policy Makers Doing to Help? – This panel session is designed to look at the steps the industry could take to set efficiency standards within their own organisations. We cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that transport accounts for 18% of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions, making it the second largest source. Plenary session sponsored by mycar.

As such we are giving attendees more time than ever this year to look at the new products, systems and tools available in our Exhibitors Hall.
Seeing the names of those involved this year it really is shaping up to be an exciting mix! Whether it be upgrading your telematics systems, looking at emerging safety technologies, or investing in electric vehicle technologies there’s definitely something there for everyone. You can find about more about our Sponsors & Exhibitors, in our e-magazine here.
Soak up the atmosphere at our Networking Dinner & Awards Night
The Thursday night of conference is a chance to let your hair down, enjoy a time of networking with other delegates and to celebrate the industry’s finest. We’ve got some great entertainment in store, an incredible venue at Palladium at Crown and we look forward to crowning our Fleet Manager of the Year, alongside our Fleet Environment and Fleet Safety Award winners.
Since their introduction in 1996, the AfMA Fleet awards have recognized new approaches and applications that have produced substantial reductions in costs, lowered emissions, and improved safety outcomes. Drawing attention to advances in fleet management techniques, the application of technology, fleet safety and raising awareness of the fleets’ impact on the environment, the Awards have inspired many to begin their own voyage towards best practice. Who will we recognise in 2021?
