The Skoda Kodiaq has received a 5-star ANCAP safety rating following 2024 testing. This rating applies to all variants of the large SUV, that will be sold in Australia and New Zealand from March 2025.

The Kodiaq includes dual frontal, side chest-protecting, and side head-protecting airbags as standard. A centre airbag, designed to enhance protection for front-seat passengers in side-impact collisions, is also included in all models.

The Kodiaq is also equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with capabilities for car-to-car, vulnerable road user, junction, crossing, backover, and head-on scenarios. A lane support system, including lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and emergency lane keeping, is standard. An advanced speed assistance system is also included.

The Kodiaq’s ANCAP scores in key safety categories are:

  • Adult Occupant Protection: 89% (35.66 out of 40)
  • Child Occupant Protection: 87% (42.94 out of 49)
  • Vulnerable Road User Protection: 82% (51.73 out of 63)
  • Safety Assist Technologies: 81% (14.69 out of 18)

ANCAP notes that the third row of seating does not have top tether anchorages, and child restraints should not be installed in this area.

The Skoda Kodiaq falls within the $35,000 – $65,000 price range. The 5-star ANCAP rating is valid until December 2030.
