Following a successful first round, New South Wales has opened Round 2 of the Drive Electric NSW Fleets Incentives program.
The bidding window opened in mid-July and is open until 25 October 2022. It is open to individual fleets (business, local councils, and non-government organisations operating a fleet of at least 10 vehicles) as well as to aggregators (fleet management organisations and private business offering fleet leasing arrangements in NSW).
It aims to bridge the cost of transitioning from ICE passenger, light commercial or sports utility vehicles to BEVs or FCEVs through a reverse auction process.
A total of $105 million is being invested in this initiative to help accelerate the shift to EVs and reduce emissions in NSW. It will support the purchase of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). Additional funds are also available for smart base charging.
