With just over five weeks to go, anticipation is building for the 2025 Australasian Fleet Education & Leadership Summit. We’re proud to shine a spotlight on our keynote speakers – a dynamic group of leaders, innovators, and experts set to spark fresh thinking across the fleet and mobility landscape.

From powerful personal journeys to cutting-edge conversations on data, technology, and behaviour, each keynote offers a unique lens through which to explore the future of fleet. Here’s your first look at what to expect:

Opening Keynote | Gerrard Gosens, OAM

Tuesday, 20 May | 8:045 AM – 9:30 AM
Gerrard Gosens is one of Australia’s most fearless adventurers and most respected motivational speakers. Born blind, Gerrard has represented Australia in three Paralympic Games, completed multiple Ironman triathlons, climbed Mt. Everest to 6,500 metres, danced on national television, and even co-piloted an aircraft around the country. He’s also a chocolatier and small business owner, known for his unshakable optimism and determination to push boundaries.

In his keynote, Stronger Together, Gerrard will share powerful lessons from his life journey – resilience in the face of adversity, the value of trust, and the courage to challenge what’s possible. His session is a reminder of what we can achieve when we focus not on limitations, but on opportunities. It’s an inspiring and energising start to the Summit.

Keynote | Mike Branch, VP Data & Analytics, Geotab

Tuesday, 20 May | 10:10 AM – 10:40 AM
Mike Branch is a global leader in fleet data analytics and innovation. As Vice President of Data & Analytics at Geotab, he leads AI development, machine learning integration, and smart mobility analytics for one of the world’s largest telematics providers. With a background in environmental engineering and a deep commitment to sustainability, Mike bridges technical capability with real-world outcomes.

In his keynote, Intelligent Fleets: How AI is Shaping the Next Era of Fleet Management, Mike will explore how artificial intelligence is already transforming operations, improving safety, and enhancing decision-making across fleets. With real-world examples and future trends, this session will arm delegates with the knowledge to lead confidently into the age of intelligent mobility.

Keynote | Dr Steve Nuttall, Director, Fifth Quadrant

Dr Steve Nuttall returns to the Summit with deep insights drawn from national fleet research and industry data. With decades of experience leading customer experience and strategic research programs, Steve is a respected voice in understanding how market dynamics and stakeholder expectations are reshaping the fleet environment.

In his keynote, Industry Insights, Steve will explore the evolving priorities of fleet managers and operators – from electrification and safety, to digital transformation and service delivery. He’ll examine key trends and benchmarks that define success in today’s mobility landscape and provide practical direction on how organisations can stay agile in an increasingly complex operating environment.

His session offers a timely and evidence-based look at how organisations can adapt and thrive in a shifting landscape – essential insight for strategic planning and benchmarking.

Keynote | Eden Shirley, CEO, AutoGuru

Wednesday, 21 May | 8:10 AM – 8:35 AM

A passionate disruptor and forward-thinker, Eden Shirley returns to the Summit stage to explore The Future of Fleet: Tech, Trust and Transformation. As automation, robotics, and AI rapidly advance, today’s fleets are already integrating smarter technologies – from predictive maintenance and automated workflows to semi-autonomous systems and voice-assisted diagnostics.

In a bold and imaginative session, Eden will be joined live on stage by the UniTree G1 humanoid robot, affectionately known as ‘Little G’.

Together, they’ll explore a future where humanoid robots aren’t just tools or assistants – they’re part of the business, working alongside traditional assets across manufacturing, logistics, customer service, and field operations. In this future, fleet managers may find themselves responsible for managing not just vehicles, but a diverse mix of intelligent, mobile assets embedded throughout the business.

With a blend of humour, insight, and grounded foresight, Eden’s session invites delegates to rethink what makes up a fleet – and how their role as fleet professionals will continue to evolve. It’s visionary, practical, and guaranteed to leave you thinking – and smiling.

Keynote | Jason Smith, Director – Real-World Testing Program (Australian Automobiles Association)

Wednesday, 21 May | 8:35 AM – 9:00 AM
Why do real-world emissions matter? Many vehicles use significantly more fuel and produce higher emissions in practice than they do under lab testing conditions – sometimes over 30% more. Jason Smith leads the Australian Automobiles Association’s Real-World Testing Program, a national initiative designed to independently test and report on the environmental performance of vehicles on Australian roads.

With a strong background in automotive policy, regulatory frameworks, and program development, Jason brings deep expertise to the conversation around emissions transparency and the shift toward net-zero fleets. In this keynote, he’ll unpack the true performance of 84 vehicles tested so far, highlight the implications for cost, compliance and sustainability, and explain how EVs will be tested for energy consumption and range in real-world conditions.

Attendees will gain valuable insight into how real-world data can support smarter decision-making, accurate total cost of ownership forecasting, and stronger environmental performance across the board.
