Indonesia’s electric vehicle (EV) market is gaining momentum as 400 new VF 3 mini electric SUVs were delivered to dealers and customers across the country. This comes just two months after Vietnamese automaker VinFast launched the model. The delivery is seen as a big step forward in the country’s push towards greener transport.

“This milestone not only affirms [our] superior production capacity and process optimisation capabilities but also demonstrates the strong appeal of the [model] to consumers in Indonesia and the wider region,” said the company in a statement.

The compact electric SUV is designed for city use and offers a full-charge driving range of 215 km. It has quickly gained attention in Southeast Asia for its stylish design and affordable price, helping more people shift to electric transport.

Popular Across Southeast Asia

Since its debut, the model has become popular in Vietnam, the Philippines, and now Indonesia. It’s known for its fresh look and custom feel. It “not only inspires creativity but also empowers users to express their individuality and personal style,” the automaker said.

To celebrate the milestone, 100 vehicles were handed over during the Motomobi News Karnaval on April 19 and 20. Visitors at the event got to see the car up close, enjoy interactive activities, and take advantage of promotional offers.

Drivers who received their vehicles praised its design, useful features, and solid performance for the price.

Building More Charging Stations

Beyond delivering vehicles, the company is also building a support network that includes more dealerships, service centres, and EV charging stations. Aiming to improve convenience, it has partnered with Green – Smart – Mobility (GSM) and global charger developer V-GREEN to install 30,000 charging ports across Indonesia by the end of 2025.

This effort is part of a broader goal to make electric transport more accessible and practical for all.
