Holden’s Chevrolet-derived Colorado ute returns with a new bag of tricks

Unveiled at Wednesday night’s NRL State of Origin game, the updated Holden Colorado has teased a swag of new technology toys and accessories to bring it into 2017.

The range consists of three variants, the base-model LTS, mid-spec LS-X and LTZ range-topper. Both specifications get Holden’s MyLink infotainment system with Apply Car Play and Android Auto, and on the LTZ forward facing camera and active safety features like Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning, plus front and rear park assist, come as standard. A rear-view camera is standard across the range. One party piece of the new ute will be remote window activation, allowing owners to lower the windows in hotter weather to reduce cabin temperatures.

Holden has revealed its largest range of genuine accessories will be available on the new Colorado including but not limited to bull bars, lights, wheels and rubber.

“When we revealed the Colorado Xtreme show truck (pictured below) back in March we received overwhelmingly positive feedback,” said Joseph Basile, Holden Engineering Manager – Accessories. “In the coming months, the 2017 Colorado will deliver a plethora of all-new accessories to its range including safari bar, fender flares, LED driving lights, 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tyres,” he said.

Official pricing has not yet been finalised but further details on the 2017 Colorado range will become available in late-August.
