Pricing and specifications for BMW’s new X2 SAC have been revealed, with the company’s new model set to retail for $55,900 when it arrives in March.
The new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission increases efficiency and response, while the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine will generate 141kW and 280Nm for strong performance.
For the visual purists, the BMW X2 presents a uniquely low and wide body style that accentuates its sporty intentions, with the model set to go from 0-100km/h within 7.7 sec.
Coming as standard is the latest iDrive6 infotainment system, featuring a 6.5-inch touchscreen, which can also be upgraded to a larger, 8.8-inch screen. The iDrive6 is designed to work seamlessly with smartphones and telematic devices to provide a variety of uses for busy, connected drivers.
Via the Connected+ smartphone app, planning routes (including, if required, the non-vehicle portion of the route) and co-ordinating appointments on your smartphone can be directly sent to the car’s iDrive system. Location and route sharing is also possible.
BMW Group Australia CEO, Marc Werner said the X2 would be a welcomed addition to the BMW family within Australia.
“We are excited to be adding the BMW X2 to the small premium SUV segment,” he said.
“The X2’s dynamic stance and highly efficient turbocharged petrol engine combine with outstanding connectivity and infotainment systems to create a sporty vehicle of outstanding versatility.”
