Affordable Kia EVs and hybrids are coming to the Southeast Asian region in 2025. The Korean auto company previously announced the launch of their EV3, set to start in the same year.
SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY SOLUTIONS PROVIDER
In 2021, Kia famously rehauled its branding to become a more environmentally conscious vehicle brand. In their goal to become a “sustainable mobility solutions provider,” the company vowed to sell 1.6 million EVs per year by 2030.
Kia’s most recent effort to achieve this includes a launch into a burgeoning EV and hybrid market, Southeast Asia. The launch will feature an EV line-up priced in an affordable range, starting at 54,000 AUD to 77,000 AUD.
EV DISTRIBUTION
Aside from the EV3, the line-up also includes the EV4 and EV5. Reported sightings of the EV2’s road tests have made its rounds on the internet, sparking rumors of its addition to the 2025 line-up. Reports say the EV2 will be the featured vehicle in the upcoming EV selection. The line-up will continue to expand until 2026 and is expected to reach up to 8 vehicles in full range.
According to President and CEO of Kia Asia Pacific, Ki Seok Ahn, the line-up will vary per country. This decision, said Ahn, is due to the differing EV laws and regulations in the region.
Not only will Kia expand its sales and distribution, but also their EV manufacturing. This expansion is set to be established in the countries of; Korea, US, China and India, and the regions of Europe and Asia Pacific. The company has not yet released complete details regarding their growing operations.
