As the winter season is well and truly underway in the Southern states/territories it is important for organisations to consider how to prepare their vehicles and drivers for these tricky conditions.
The Australian Road Research Board is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday 10th July at 3pm AEST that will consider the contribution that various kinds of adverse weather make to road crashes either as a causation or contributory factor.
The session will focus upon the unique risks presented by frost, ice and snow. A selection of risk mitigation measures will be introduced, with a focus on what is known as preventive winter maintenance, or the winter service, aiming to inhibit the formation of frost and ice on road surfaces. Warning and real time information systems will also be discussed.
Please note – this session will commence at 3:00 PM AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) which is 6AM GMT+1 (London UK time). As time zones will vary for attendees, please check your own time zone. It is recommended that you connect to the webinar 15 minutes prior to allow sufficient time for potential connection delays.
