E.ON Next Veloce Racing won back-back victories at the Hydro X Prix in Scotland last weekend. The dynamic duo of Kevin Hansen and Molly Taylor showcased their exceptional skills, narrowly edging out the ACCIONA | SAINZ XE Team (ASXE).

Grand Final Highlights

Kevin Hansen of E.ON Next Veloce Racing seized an early lead in Round 4, with Laia Sanz of ASXE hot on his heels. As the race progressed, RXR and Andretti Altawkilat battled for the third spot. However, a puncture for RXR’s Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky allowed Catie Munnings of Andretti Altawkilat to advance, despite incurring a time penalty for dropped flags.

During the Switch Zone transition, Hansen handed over an 8.8-second lead to Molly Taylor, who faced relentless pressure from ASXE’s Fraser McConnell. The final lap saw McConnell closing in on Taylor, but her defensive driving ensured a hard-fought victory for E.ON Next Veloce Racing. Andretti Altawkilat secured the third podium spot, rounding off an exhilarating race.

“Today was a real scrap. The competition in Extreme E is incredibly close, and the fight to get to the Grand Final can go any which way. With the support of our fans in GridPlay, we positioned ourselves well on the start line and managed to execute under pressure,” said Molly Taylor.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hansen said, “Another win on home soil, what more could you wish for? Double-headers are tricky because you can’t afford to lose focus. This win feels especially satisfying given the challenges we faced.”

Championship Standings

E.ON Next Veloce Racing now leads the Extreme E championship with 87 points, holding a nine-point advantage over ASXE who has 78 points. RXR comes in third place with 67 points.

Extreme E returns on 14-15 September for the Island x Prix in Sardinia.
