When organisations electrify their fleets, they are presented with a huge opportunity to save on operating costs and reduce their emissions. This transition can also have a powerful impact on the national market, spurring demand for and increasing supply of electric vehicles (EV), both new and used.
That’s why the NSW Government is investing $105 million to help private businesses, not-for-profits and local councils fast-track their transition to EVs.
The Drive electric NSW EV fleets incentive will help bridge the cost to transition fleets to electric passenger, light commercial and sports utility vehicles through a competitive reverse auction.
Guidelines are now available to check your eligibility and understand how to participate in the reverse auction bidding process. The main ranking criterion considers both the amount of incentive sought and the level of carbon emissions abated. This will help the State deliver a 50% cut in emissions by 2030 and on our way to net zero emissions 2050.
The first round of the incentive opens 30 November 2021. You have until 4 February 2022 to register and place your first bid.
