The 2025 Australasian Fleet Education & Leadership Summit kicks off in just 12 days at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney and it’s set to be our biggest and boldest yet!

Taking place on May 20 and 21, this two-day event will bring together fleet professionals representing more than 1 million vehicles across Australia and New Zealand. With a jam-packed program of keynote speakers, hands-on sessions, and networking opportunities, the Summit is your one-stop event for fleet education, innovation, and leadership.

Here’s what we have in store for our delegates this year:

Pre-Summit Events + 2025 Fleet Management Awards & Industry Dinner

The action begins a day early with exclusive invite-only events, including the Utilities Forum 2.0, National Police Fleet Group, and a special face-to-face session for students enrolled in the Diploma of Leadership & Management.

Selected guests will also be able to attend the intimate Leaders of Industry Dinner, a chance to connect with decision-makers in a relaxed setting.

Summit Day 1 + 2025 Fleet Management Awards & Industry Dinner

The 2-day summit kicks off on May 21st with a keynote from Paralympian, entrepreneur, and adventurer Gerrard Gosens OAM, who will share his remarkable story of resilience, leadership, and innovation. AfMA’s Executive Director, Mace Hartley, will reflect on 30 years of growth in the fleet sector, while Geotab’s Mike Branch will explore the impact of AI and big data on vehicle safety.

Sessions continue with industry insights from Dr. Steve Nuttall on customer experience and sustainable transport, and Brian Fielkow, who will provide practical strategies for building a strong safety culture.

The afternoon features concurrent breakout sessions covering key issues like the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES), transitioning fleets to EVs and hydrogen, fleet risk assessments, and a special Women in Fleet session. Attendees will also hear from industry leaders about EV battery science, connected vehicle data, and the real-world costs of electric vehicles.

Day 1 continues into the evening with 2025 Fleet Management Awards and Industry Dinner. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a night of networking, celebration, and a shared commitment to improving the fleet sector.

Sponsored by AutoGuru, the Industry Dinner will serve as the backdrop for these award presentations, providing an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of outstanding fleet professionals and their contributions to innovation and sustainability in fleet management.

The Fleet Manager of the Year award, sponsored by BP and Geotab, recognises the highest level of excellence in managing fleets, focusing on safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.

The Fleet Environment award, sponsored by Hyundai and Karmo, celebrates organisations working towards achievable environmental goals, including reducing their overall footprint and improving vehicle and driver efficiency.

Lastly, the Fleet Safety award, sponsored by Teletrac Navman and Innovation Group, honors those who emphasize driver, vehicle, and operational safety, setting industry-wide standards for safe fleet operations.

Summit Day 2 + Ride & Drive Experience

Day two offers even more in-depth learning opportunities and the return of the Ride & Drive Experience. Thanks to support from Eagers Automotive, attendees can test drive the latest electric and low-emission vehicles on a dedicated 20-minute loop. It’s a hands-on chance to experience new technology, ask questions, and get a feel for how these vehicles can fit into your fleet.

Sessions throughout the day will focus on leadership, future mobility, EV adoption strategies, and fleet data optimisation. All of these sessions are designed to give you the tools and confidence to lead your fleet into the future.

To wrap things up, members of the Fleet Management Benchmarking Improvement Group (FMBIG) will meet for a closed-door session focused on benchmarking, collaboration, and sharing best practices.
